Fast Facts

Yes you may include people, other than the celebrant, in your ceremony.
"Giving Away," is optional although it is rather nice as the bride, to walk down the aisle or make your entrance on the arm of someone special.
In accordance with the Marriage Act 1961, there are certain words that must be included in your ceremony. Ask your celebrant to point these out.
It is acceptable to include religious or spiritual wording in a civil ceremony.
You require two adult witnesses at your ceremony.
It is no longer fashionable for the bride to keep her guests waiting more than ten minutes.
The bride signs all documentation on the wedding day with the same name she used on the NOIM (Notice Of Intention to Marry).
